Questions About Your Second Chapter?
Find answers about life coaching, midlife transitions, and reinvention for people over 45 in Portugal
Absolutely—in fact, your 50s and beyond are one of the best times for coaching. You've got decades of experience, self-awareness, and wisdom that younger people are still building. What coaching does is help you redirect all that into what actually matters to you now, whether that's retirement planning, a career shift, or finding fresh purpose. Many of our clients say the clarity they gain in 8-12 weeks would've taken them years to find alone.
Therapy looks backward and inward; coaching looks forward and outward. We're not treating a condition—we're helping you design what's next. If you're grieving a loss or managing depression, therapy is the right call. But if you're asking "What do I actually want to do with the next 20 years?" or "How do I make this transition without losing myself?"—that's coaching.
No. While we're rooted in Portugal and deeply familiar with the cultural and economic context here, we work with clients across the country via video calls. We've coached people in the Algarve, Covilhã, and even Portuguese expats abroad. The coaching is tailored to your life and location—if you're in a smaller town, we can help you navigate that reality too.
Most people notice shifts in thinking within 3-4 weeks—clarity on what they really want, less mental fog, more confidence in decisions. Bigger changes (landing a new role, launching something, feeling settled about retirement) typically show up in 3-6 months. It depends on your starting point and how actively you engage with the work between sessions. We recommend a minimum of 8-12 sessions to build momentum.
You're not. Honestly, one of the gifts of being 45+ is that you stop waiting for permission. Whether it's a career pivot, learning something new, or redefining what success looks like—you've got the maturity and agency to make it real. We've worked with people who started completely new chapters at 52, 58, even 65. The timeline is yours.
Sessions are 60 minutes, usually one per week or every two weeks. We start by checking in on what's shifted since last time, then dive into whatever's most alive for you that week—it might be a decision you're sitting with, a relationship dynamic, a fear about retirement, or something you want to explore. We use structured questions and frameworks to help you think differently, not tell you what to do. Between sessions, you'll have small practices or reflections to work with.
